DIM C-BRAINS international PhD program is aimed exclusively at students currently enrolled in a master's and internship program outside France, who would like to pursue a thesis in the scientific and regional area covered by the DIM C-BRAINS. 

In addition to remuneration over 3 years, this competitive regional program offers a scientific bonus.

Once again this year, the program will be run in conjunction with the Institut du Cerveau. 

• September 24, 2025 - November 11, 2025: Submission of thesis topics by researcher
• December 1, 2025 - February 1, 2026: Online publication of thesis topics + Student applications
• February 18, 2026 - March 23, 2026: Selection of candidates by researchers
• April 15, 2026: Pre-selection jury
• May 20 and 21, 2026: Audition of pre-selected candidates

DIM C-BRAINS coordinates the selection of scientific equipment projects for the Île-de-France community, centered around three priority axes in the fields of neuroscience and cognitive sciences—covering both human and animal populations—as well as two structuring projects.

The Call for Projects (CFP) for Mid-heavy Equipment (ML) provides DIM funding between €132k and €450k (excluding VAT).

All neuroscience teams in the Île-de-France Region are eligible to apply for this 2026 Mid-heavy Equipment CFP.

Research themes addressed by this call for projects must:

• Align with at least one of the three priority axes guiding C-BRAINS' actions, in which case the application falls under the "Generic" category. Any researcher affiliated with the DIM C-BRAINS scientific scope may submit a proposal in this category. OR
• Be associated with one of the two structuring projects. Only one application per structuring project may be submitted by the Steering Committee. This application must include all requests from the various sites involved in the project to ensure consistency with the planned strategic orientations and choices. No applications other than those submitted by the Steering Committee will be accepted in the "Structuring Project" category.

Financial Terms:

• Total Project Cost (excl. VAT): Must be between €200k (minimum) and €3M (maximum) for the Generic category.
• Maximum Grant: The maximum subsidy allocated by DIM C-BRAINS per project will not exceed €450k.
• Regional Contribution: The requested regional subsidy must be less than or equal to 66% of the total cost (excl. VAT) of the requested equipment (per Île-de-France Regional regulations).

The DIM C-BRAINS aims to boost the attractiveness and visibility of neuroscience and cognitive science in the Paris Region. In this context, C-BRAINS contributes each year to the funding of Scientific Events (SE) focusing on its priority themes. For the 2026/2027 Call for Projects, the events must take place in the Île-de-France region before 31 December 2027 and involve at least two academic teams and/or C-BRAINS partners (associations and/or industry). The SE project may take the form of conferences, symposia, research or training workshops, hackathons or any other innovative form.

The budget allocated by the DIM C-BRAINS will be between €2,000 and €10,000 maximum. However, co-funding is strongly encouraged.
