[Job offer] Biological Instrumentation Engineer, Imaging Platform (NEUROPICT), FSEP CNRS Biology
FSEP CNRS Biology: IE, Biological Instrumentation Engineer, Imaging Platform (NEUROPICT)
Within the NeuroPSI imaging platform (NEUROPICT) and in conjunction with the PSI-CO behavioural analysis platform, microscopy equipment is used for imaging brain activity either ex vivo or in vivo, where it can be combined with behavioural analysis. This involves, on the one hand, 2-photon imaging on different animal models and different preparations, from brain tissue to awake animals, and on the other hand, mini-endoscopy allowing mesoscopic (1-photon) imaging mounted on the head of the animal, which is free to move.
The agent will be responsible for all functional imaging within the NEUROPICT platform and will therefore work closely with the PSI-CO platform. They will be involved in the experiments proposed within the platform, taking part in the research projects of teams using 1- or 2-photon imaging and optogenetic methods. A major task of the agent will be to take responsibility for the bi-photon and bi-directional optical system, adapting it to the needs of users working with various animal models (mice, fruit flies, rats), in order to synchronise the system with equipment for recording and quantifying physiological and behavioural variables. The mission involves developing electronic and computer interfaces for optical (single- and two-photon, opto-stimulation) and electrophysiological systems with commercial or custom-built devices to enable animals to perform a variety of tasks (e.g., spatial tasks, conditioning).
