The central approach of our team is to harness the power of modern molecular genetic tools in integrated strategies to dissect in vivo the physiological, cellular, and molecular bases through which the dialogue between the brain and peripheral organs leads to adaptive regulation of various parameters of energy balance, notably its hedonic, motivational, and sensory components, metabolic efficiency, and allostatic responses.
