Sleep: Respiratory control, mood disorders and impact on development (SleepCMD)
NeuroDiderot
Axe 2 : Approches quantitatives à l'exploration du comportement et de la cognition
Team research topics:
SleepCmd builds on the long lasting fundamental and clinical expertise of its members in control of breathing and sleep disordered breathing and benefits from the arrival of two new researchers who are involved in translational and clinical research on the neurodevelopmental consequences of sleep disorders and sleep, circadian and seasonal biomarkers and treatments for mood disorders including chronotherapeutics.
For the next five years, our objectives are: 1- to study the pathophysiology and identify the neuropathological supports of sleep-related disorders and how disturbed sleep interfere with neuro-development, 2- to develop innovative methodology serving research projects and 3- to find and test candidate biomarkers and treatments for sleep-related disorders.
Main techniques used:
The SleepCmd project associates experimental animal and human studies, and both translational and clinical approaches taking advantage of close links between SleepCmd and clinical departments, namely Psychiatry, Functional Explorations - Physiology and Sleep Units of both Robert Debré and Bichat hospitals, together with national and international collaborations.
