Cerebral Codes and Circuits Connectivity
ESPCI-UMR 8249
Axe 2 : Approches quantitatives à l'exploration du comportement et de la cognition
Axe 3 : Réseaux neuronaux, modélisation et intelligence artificielle
Team research topics:
Experiences we face every day continuously reshape our brain and, at the same time, the state of our brain can change the way we perceive the world outside us. The research of the C4 team aim to better understand how long-term learning and memory are encoded at the synaptic, cellular and network level in our brain.
We study in particular the plastic changes occurring in the neuronal network when we experience a new event and the changes required to form a memory of it. We are also interested in the study of ensemble of cells, so called “engram”, involved in the formation of emotional memories.
Main techniques used:
To study how the brain processes and stores external information, we use a multi-level approach, from network to circuit, cellular and synaptic analyses. We use opto- and chemogenetics, whole-brain network analysis using graph theory, in vivo imaging and in vivo electrophysiology.
