Subjective correlates of cognitive mechanisms
DEC-ENS-LSCP
Axe 2 : Approches quantitatives à l'exploration du comportement et de la cognition
Team research topics:
The "Subjective correlates of cognitive mechanisms" team is dedicated to understanding the relationship between the experiential content of mental life (its "subjective components") and cognitive mechanisms. It is thus an extension and generalization of the study of "consciousness". We use this term to underline the fact that we are not limiting ourselves to the two main areas of investigation in consciousness science: perceptual awareness and metacognition. We also include the study of mind-wandering, attentional attention fluctuations, in addition to the above two areas. Methodologically, we are attempting to provide models of participants' performance performance in relation to their momentary subjective states.
Main techniques used:
Experimental psychology, modeling.
