Our team investigates the neural activity occurring during sleep that underlies the normal and pathological processing of emotional memories and anxiety.

Our lab is interested in the neural mechanisms underlying the processing of memories and emotions throughout the major stages of sleep. Our investigations primarily revolve around the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex. Specifically, our aim is to gain insight into the mechanisms through which memories are consolidated or eliminated during sleep, how contextual memories become linked to positive or negative emotional experiences, and how stress and anxiety impact these sleep-related processes.
