Social Cognition: from Brain to Society
DEC-ENS-LNC²
Axe 2 : Approches quantitatives à l'exploration du comportement et de la cognition
Team research theme:
The team studies the interactive aspect of social signals in order to reconcile two facets of social interaction, the evaluation of socio-emotional signals and the preparation of adaptive responses. In order to better understand normal social functioning and socio-emotional disturbances in psychiatric disorders, we seek to characterize the cognitive and neural mechanisms that enable perceived social signals to motivate intentional actions in the observer, necessary to cope with social demands.
Main research techniques:
We combine several approaches, psychological (self-report questionnaires), behavioral (performance and reaction times, decision-making models), psychophysiological (skin conductance, cardiac response and electromyography),
