Synaptic and Neuroenergetic Networks

NeuroSU

Axe 1 : Génomique, cellules humaines, reprogrammation et neuro-organoïdes

Axe 2 : Approches quantitatives à l'exploration du comportement et de la cognition

Over the past decades the members of the team SNN have made significant and crucial advances in the field of molecular, cellular and integrative neuroscience.

For the 5-year project, we wish to build on these findings and technical developments to investigate the molecular mechanisms and the circuits underlying the neurological disorders of intellectual disability, absence epilepsy and those associated with vestibular impairment, which rely on dysfunction of both synaptic integration, plasticity and neuronal networks communication at the whole brain level. In rodent models, combining electrophysiological techniques with molecular approaches (e.g. optogenetics, chemogenetics), cutting-edge imaging techniques (functional ultrasound[fUS], super resolution, 2-photon biosensor) and behavioral paradigms, we will investigate how the different synaptic modules and circuits participate to sensory and vestibular information for the encoding of experience and spatial navigation. We will study how these different communication channels are altered in pathological conditions to design and develop interventional approaches which may be amenable for translational studies.
